I’ve met so many people who are deeply blessed but hesitant to share it. I’ve even felt that way myself. I’ll look at my life — a happy marriage, healthy kids, fulfilling work — and think, should I really say anything? Sometimes I hold back, not because I’m ungrateful, but because I don’t want someone else to feel bad. I know not everyone is in the same season.

But here’s the hard truth I’ve had to face: when I keep quiet about the good things God has done in my life, I’m not being humble — I’m being disobedient.

Psalm 66:16 says, “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for my soul.” That’s a command, not a suggestion. And it’s not about showing off — it’s about testifying. When God moves in our lives, we’re meant to speak on it. Not to boast, but to remind others that He can move in theirs, too.

I used to struggle with this. I’d downplay my wins so nobody felt uncomfortable. But I’ve realized that testifying isn’t about comparison — it’s about inspiration. I remember sitting at a Yolanda Adams concert, watching her sing her heart out on stage. I didn’t think, Why not me? I thought, I want to do that one day. It stirred something in me. Seeing her walk in her purpose gave me hope for mine.

And that’s what our testimonies do. They spark something in someone else.

Years ago, when my own marriage was going through tough times, God told me something I’ll never forget: Pray for your friend’s marriage, and I’ll heal yours. I took my eyes off my own situation and put my faith into action for someone else. And God showed up — not just for them, but for me, too.

If He’s blessing your home, your business, your family — say so. Not to flex. To give glory. Your testimony might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Yes, be sensitive. Don’t rub it in. But don’t shrink back, either. Joy isn’t something you have to apologize for. You’ve prayed. You’ve worked. You’ve grown. So walk boldly in your blessing.

God’s been good. Tell somebody.
